Guideposts for SuccessThe previous information is dire, but we need not despair; research has provided a solution. The National Collaborative on Workforce & Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth) conducted research that identified five evidence-based practices shown to improve outcomes for youth with disabilities. Do these assumptions sound familiar? They should! They were drawn directly from the three formative laws that guide our work: The Rehab Act of 1973, IDEA, and ADA. Just as the tenets of our guiding laws influenced the Guideposts, you’ll see that the Guideposts have, in turn, influenced Pre-Employment Transition Services.
