Welcome! The first course in our series addresses the background, purpose, and application of Pre-Employment Transition Services for youth with disabilities. Curriculum Designer & Instructor Barb Schiedermayer, our curriculum designer and course author, holds a Master's
degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and has over 30 years of experience in the
field. Barb worked in private rehabilitation as an employment specialist. She
then worked for Montana's Vocational Rehabilitation program as a
VR counselor, Transitions Program Developer/Manager, Trainer, Regional
Administrator, and Quality Control Officer. Concurrently, she worked as a
curriculum developer and trainer for technical assistance centers and grant
projects nationwide. Barb's passion for her work became personal when she and
her husband adopted their daughter, who lives with a significant disability. For
more on Barb's story, we invite you to listen in on the podcast A VR Professional and the Mother of a Child with a Disability.
Barb welcomes you to reach
out with any questions or concerns regarding the courses.
